- How to record Game
There are few programs out there for game recording. I play few MMORPGs and I have tried recording the screen with a couple of other game recording programs. I didn’t know liteCam would support game recording and it was quite a surprise. I tried to record WOW with liteCam 2.2 once but didn’t really like it. Generally, screen capture programs can’t record MMORPG game screen. I was one of few pre-beta testers for liteCam 3 and learned that game recording in liteCam is totally different from screen recording because it records just the game window even if the game window is not on the top layer. It uses DirectX buffer for game recording. In other words, if you open some other applications on top of the game window, it won’t interrupt game recording. Only the game window will be recorded even if it’s not the top layer. I was very impressed with its game recording performance and here’s how I recorded game.
I will update this section with more games regularly when I have chances.
As I mentioned, game recording is totally different from screen recording so it has different procedures.
Click the Record Game button on the left.

Settings on this page are pretty straight forward.

Select Video format and frame rates from the drop-down lists. Higher the frame rate better the recording quality, but it totally depends on your system. For Frame rate and lock frame rate, please refer to innoheim support site. They will be better for technical information.
One thing I want to point out is the difference between “Frame per Second” and “Lock Frame Rate”. “Lock Frame Rate” will set limit to your actual game frame. If you lock this at 30FPS, you will only get 30FPS even if you normally get 60-70 FPS. “Frame per Second” shows frame rate when you are recording.
From my test result, it’s better to lock frame rate a little bit higher than or same as “Frame per second”. I also found that you get better game recording performance when you uncheck “show recording information” box.
If you don’t have a high-end system, try “half of the recording area-50%”. This will significantly increase recording speed.
You can select computer sound for game recording.
