How to Record QuickTime Movie with Audio

Please make sure to run liteCam before you play QuickTime movie. If you have already opened QuickTime Player or web page which has QuickTime Player, please close it. When you run liteCam, you will notice that the screen blinks if you have chosen "Automatic hardware acceleration". You were probably prompted when you ran liteCam for the first time. If you haven't done so already, you can select "Automatic hardware acceleration" from the Tools menu. Don't panic if you didn't get prompted because you don't need to set hardware acceleration on Windows Vista. For Audio settings, please visit the innoheim website.

There are few things you will want to change before recording the QuickTime video, depending on what you would like to record. If you want to record a video which requires high quality audio (like a music video), I recommend that you change the audio settings to Stereo. You won't be able to change this setting if you are running Windows Vista.
Audio Settings for recording
When you’re ready to record, open QuickTime Player and browse through videos to record and when you have found one, go back to liteCam. From the liteCam’s main windows, click Select button. We have test recorded QuickTime video from Apple website as shown below (http://www.apple.com/getamac/)

You will notice that the liteCam minimizes and your cursor changes to a hand shape. Move the cursor to the top left corner of the video and hold down the left mouse button and move to the bottom right hand side of the video. You probably don't want to record the movie control bar, so don't drag the mouse over the control bar. You will see a pink colored box around the video. What’s inside the pink box will be recorded. If you made a mistake, click the Select button again from the liteCam and do it again.
Recording Quicktime Movie
Click the Record button. When you click Record, liteCam does not start recording the video, first you have to enter a file name and click Save.
Click Record button to begin record QuickTime video
You will see this AVI Option window. Please select “Microsoft MPEG-4 Video CODEC V3” for Video Codec if you don’t have any Codec in mind. If you don’t select a Codec, you will get a bigger movie size. If you want to record Audio, tick the box beside “Record Audio”.
AVI Options window

You will see a window saying “Click “OK” button to start recording”. I recommend you begin playing the QuickTime video before clicking the OK button.

If you have slow connection, pause the video until the streaming is done before you begin recording (otherwise liteCam will continue to record the paused portions of the streaming video).

When you’re done recording, click the Stop button (bottom right hand side of your screen) or Pause button if you want to continue recording another video.
Enjoy Recording QuickTime Video!
