- How to record YouTube Video (www.YouTube.com) with high quality video and audio.
I found that the new version of liteCam made the recording a little bit easier than the previous version. Less clicks and less settings. Please note that this recoding is done on Windows 7 64-bit. Please refer to vendor’s website if you have Windows XP as it might be a little bit different in setting up audio.
Let’s open liteCam. The first among the 5 buttons on the left is “Record Video” and it’s the default button as liteCam was first developed to record streaming video.

Now click the little down arrowhead beside the Select button. You can also select the recording mode from the toolbar. I personally prefer “Rectangle” over “Window” when you’re recording YouTube or MSN videos because “Window” records scroll bar on the bottom of the video as well as the video.

Once you select whichever option you like, click Select button.

liteCam will minimize and the entire screen will be dimmed. Now you will have to select the area you want to record. Just drag and drop. Make sure you don’t record the scrollbar at the bottom of the video.

Now it shows the coordinates of the starting point and width & height for the area that will be recorded. You can resize it and move it around.

If you are ready, click the Record button to start recording the YouTube video.

You have to click OK to continue. This is the last pop-up window prior to actual recording. In liteCam 2, you would remember going through 3 or 4 different dialog boxes before recording any videos. I think this is the biggest enhancement in video recording feature in liteCam3.
When you’re recording YouTube video, you only have 2 options; pause or stop. If you have selected “Record Screen”, you get screen drawing tool as well beside these 2 buttons so that you can create a quick tutorial.
Please also note that if you’re liteCam 2 user, this new version records mouse cursor which many users wanted for years. So please make sure to keep your mouse cursor away from the video screen you’re recording.

When you’re done recording, it shows you where this file is being saved. You can rename the file name and also change the location as well.
